There are some days in our lives where everything seems to be stacked against us. The bills are piling up as if they’re trying to make friends with the ceiling, the car is making a noise you can only assume is a precursor to a fiery explosion, and your business seems to have screeched to a halt.
Any of those sound familiar? If not then count your blessings!
For the rest of us, it’s sometimes hard to image that success is anywhere in the vicinity much less close enough for us to grasp. Though in truth, it could simply be that your measure of success is just a millimeter away.
So How Do You Find Your Measure of Success?
First off, you have to understand what success means to you, because it’s different for everybody. For me, it’s simply being able to make enough money so that my brother and I don’t have to worry so much. I don’t need to be filthy rich with a mansion and 20 cars, I simply want to be comfortable.
Though what I consider success may not be what you consider it to be. So for you, the idea of living in a mansion and having more cars than you could ever possibly drive, is the epitome of success. Which is absolutely cool, by the way.
So your measure of success may be when you start making a certain amount of money. Or, it could be when you’ve paid off all of your debt.
The problem is that this can sometimes feel like it’s miles and miles away from where you are right now.
Doesn’t it seem as if it’s over the hill, through the woods, and somewhere down the rabbit hole?
Your Measure of Success Is A Millimeter Away
Though according to Tony Robbins, who is a master of learning to reshape our thinking, “when it seems impossible, when it seems like nothing is going to work, you’re usually just a few millimeters away from making it happen.” It’s not some insurmountable distance. It’s really only a matter of 1 or 2 degrees in either direction.
It’s like being in the cockpit of an airplane and setting a course for New York City, but you were one degree off when putting in your destination. So instead of landing in New York, you end up in Boston. It was a mere 1 degree yet it took you miles off course.
So when you start to feel as though success is somewhere in the far away distance, just think, you’re probably only a few degrees away from where you want to be.
Shift your mindset just slightly in a different direction and see if your course doesn’t get back on track for you to reach your own measure of success.

It’s comforting to know that success isn’t really that far off. I’ve also read that the Apollo 11 moon mission was off course 98% of the time. They just kept readjusting, and they made it. Just 1 or 2 degrees can make a huge difference.

So true. Usually when we feel overwhelmed and our success is miles away, it’s because we’ve been working so hard and we are pushing ourselves…which is in fact why we are so close.
Have you ever been so exhausted, all you want to do is go to sleep and yet you know you need to complete a certain task…when you make the choice to complete the task rather than procrastinate, you will sleep with a clear conscience and feel a great sense of accomplishment in the morning.
The biggest issue MLMers face is a lack of real marketing skills. They are lulled into a false sense of security thinking that marketing skills are not necessary to succeed in this business – just a list of friends. ..BOLLOCKS! Success is just a marketing education away

There is an old saying that action takes you out of doubt and that doubt takes you out of action. Vince Lombardi in his book What It Takes To Be Number One mentioned that whenever one makes decisions he is almost always unsure and Randy Gage says in his book How To Build A Multilevel Money Machine book that the person who does many lousy presentations gets more signups then the person who gets ready to get ready to make the perfect presentation.
Bottom line is ACTION!!!

Hey Angel – this is so true. I am constantly trying to get my business partners to focus on the little things that make big success. Instead of focusing so much energy on trying to make money, I try to get them to focus on generating one or two leads. That is what will get them on the right course toward success.
